A new short story set in the Million Eyes universe has been published in the latest anthology from Dark Tales, a well-known horror and speculative fiction publisher. Dark Tales has been running monthly short story competitions and publishing them in periodic anthologies since 2003.
The story is entitled Eryl Mai’s Dream and was shortlisted in one of Dark Tales’ monthly competitions. It now appears in Dark Tales Volume 17, which is available to buy from Dark Tales’ website for £2.49.
Eryl Mai’s Dream is inspired by the tragic true story of the Aberfan disaster in 1966, when a colliery spoil tip collapsed and engulfed a local junior school, killing 116 children and 28 adults. Specifically it is based on the legend of Eryl Mai Jones, one of the young victims, who reportedly had a premonition about the collapse.
